Rotary kiln tyre, also known as the rolling ring, its role is to transfer all the gravity of the cylinder body (including the gravity of refractory bricks, internal devices and materials) to the supporting roller, and make the cylinder can rotate smoothly on the supporting roller, so the tyre should have enough strength and durability. At the same time, the Tyre is to strengthen the radial stiffness of the cylinder parts, should have enough stiffness.

According to the different cross-section shapes of the rotary kiln tyre, it can be divided into the following categories:
1. Rectangular Tyre of rotary kiln
Its section is solid rectangle, the shape is simple, the manufacturing quality is easy to guarantee. Generally, the service life is longer than that of the box wheel belt, and it is widely used. But its rigidity is relatively small, the material utilization is unreasonable, the heat dissipation condition is poor.
2. Box Tyre of rotary kiln
Its cross section is hollow box shape, good thermal conditions, high rigidity, reasonable material utilization is difficult. The wheel belt and the cylinder body constitute an integral structure, can avoid the "neck shrinkage temperature stress" between the wheel belt and the cylinder body. And make the wheel belt give full play to the reinforcement of the simplified body, and make the material of the wheel belt get reasonable use, simplify the manufacturing, installation work, easy to operate. The installation of the wheel belt on the cylinder body usually adopts the looper type, the form of the pad and baffle. The belt is not directly installed on the simplified section, but installed on the cushion plate, so that a natural ventilation channel is formed between the cylinder and the belt. On the one hand, this strengthens the heat dissipation, and on the other hand, reduces the heat conduction of the kiln body to the belt, so that the temperature difference between the inner and outer edges of the belt is small. When the thermal system in the kiln is changed, the temperature difference does not change much, thus reducing the temperature stress on the wheel belt. When the kiln is running, the wheel belt and the simple body will slide relative to each other along the axial direction, causing wear and tear. At this time, the cushion plate plays a role in protecting the cylinder body. On both sides of the wheel belt, the baffle or retaining ring is used to limit the axial movement of the wheel belt along the cylinder.
