1.The manufacturing process of the crane wheel can be carried out by casting or forging process.

The following is a brief description of the manufacturing process of crown wheel castings and forgings:

 

(1) Casting manufacturing process:

1) Mold preparation: According to the design requirements of the crane wheel, a mold suitable for casting is produced, usually using a sand mold or a metal mold.

2) Melting metal: Select appropriate metal material and heat it to the melting point to form liquid metal.

3) Pouring: Pour the molten metal into the prepared mold so that it fills the entire mold cavity.

4) Cooling and solidification: After the metal cools in the mold, it gradually solidifies into a solid state and forms the initial shape of the crane wheel.

5) Mold removal and finishing: Remove the solidified casting from the mold and perform trimming and sand removal to remove excess material and surface defects.

6) Heat treatment: Heat treatment is performed on castings to adjust the structure and performance and improve strength and wear resistance.

7) Mechanical processing: Necessary mechanical processing is performed on the castings, such as turning, milling, drilling, etc., to achieve the required size and accuracy.

 

(2) Forging manufacturing process:

1) Material preparation: Select appropriate metal materials, usually alloy steel or stainless steel.

2) Heating: Heating the metal material to the appropriate temperature to make it plastic.

3) Forging: Using pressure equipment (such as hammering or press), the heated metal material is placed in the mold, and pressure is applied to deform it to form the preliminary shape of the crown wheel.

4) Heat treatment: Heat treatment is performed on forgings to adjust the structure and performance and improve strength and wear resistance.

5) Mechanical processing: Necessary mechanical processing is performed on the forgings, such as turning, milling, drilling, etc., to achieve the required size and accuracy.

6) Surface treatment: As needed, perform surface treatment on the forgings, such as spraying anti-rust coating or surface polishing.

(1) 45# steel (GB 45, ASTM/AISI 1045): 45# steel is a carbon structural steel with moderate strength and toughness. It is more commonly used under medium load and general working conditions.

(2) 42CrMo alloy steel (GB 42CrMo, ASTM/AISI 4140): 42CrMo steel is a low-alloy quenched and tempered steel with high strength and hardness, as well as good toughness and wear resistance. Suitable for crane wheels withstanding high loads and harsh working conditions.

(3) 34CrNiMo6 alloy steel (EN 34CrNiMo6, ASTM/AISI 4340): 34CrNiMo6 steel is a high-strength low alloy steel with high strength, hardness and toughness. Suitable for crane wheels requiring higher strength and greater wear resistance.

(4) 30CrNiMo8 alloy steel (EN 30CrNiMo8): 30CrNiMo8 steel is a high-strength low-alloy steel with good strength and toughness. It is suitable for crane wheels with medium to high loads and high toughness requirements.
